We are developing a community garden across the street from our high school, Burgard HS. We plan to create a place where the community and our school can come together and enjoy a peaceful environment. We are in the process of furthering our fundraising efforts and getting more volunteers. The Environment Club meets some days after school and Saturdays to work on the garden. On April 17, 2010 sixteen student’s and two teachers cleaned the property for three hours. We have just been given permission to use the property from Lamar Advertising, so we are swiftly beginning to make a difference. The Environmental Club has just begun to purchase materials and supplies for the project.
