"Invent"-ory. Inventory is a good name for this survey, for in taking it you may invent--or reinvent--your opinion of yourself. Of course, the person who knows you best is YOU, but sometimes it is clarifying to step back and see your reflection in someone else's eyes. In this case, the reflection is through the lens of Dave Bauer's Change Leader Inventory. It is an independently completed and co-dependently analyzed survey about YOU.

In taking it I received confirmation in some of my opinions and redefinition in others. This, however, was only because I had an open mind; I anticipate that this survey is not for everyone. On the surface, many of the questions seem obvious and maybe even a bit amateur. Impatience will make them remain so. You must set these impressions aside and allow Dave to guide you through the process. Initial skepticism will dissolve into respect when you see your own reflection clearly. After taking the CLI, I have ideas on how to improve myself. Only in having an accurate picture of my own strenths and weaknesses will I have the clarity to apply my leadership effectively.

The debriefing with Dave imbued confidence in me for my future as a leader.
