Youth Leadership & Sustainable Water Initiative

Roughly one billion people are currently lacking access to sanitary water - that's one out of eight people. Clean water is an ever-decreasing commodity and is an essential part of our lives.
"To not have drinkable water is to not have life."
These partners are pioneering a training program designed to teach youth in Kumbo, Cameroon water awareness, leadership, team building, and project implementation and management. Sustainable Earth Solutions brings additional expertise in leadership, youth empowerment, and creative problem solving to the program.
Participants are guided and mentored as they work alongside their teammates and our trainers to construct a community water well from start to finish. Participants will also provide ongoing monitoring of the well, long after construction has ended.
Program Parameters
- Construction of a clean water well that will provide water to thousands of community members;
- Youth leadership training, project management skills and teamwork techniques for young men and women;
- Water awareness campaigns to inform community members about the importance of clean water and how to ensure the use of clean water;
- Capacity to sustain the water well project into the future.
